Hello everyone! I am planning to start my own pc business w/i the next year. In doing my research I am trying to make a decision on which ‘start up info. kit’ to purchase (APPCI or uspca). I like the personal touch to APPCI and the cost is much nicer. Does anyone have any opinions on this subject. THANKS!!! Well, When I first read this message I was going to wait and see what responses it recieved. I could not believe the flames from the other association. I didn’t even want to respond because I didn’t have anything nice to say. But, after reading what I’ve read, I want to... View Article

This service business, Personal Cheffing, is here to stay! It is one of the 12 fastest growing home based businesses in the country, according to Entrepreneur Magazine’s January 1999 issue. I have been a Personal Chef since 1993. It was the best career decision I ever made. Prior to that I was a private chef and found it very incomplete, not satisfied with servicing just one family. Expanding my business started off a little slow, but I promoted the HECK out of my business. I was able to get on all three TV network affiliates here in San Diego within 9 a nine month period. Boom, business took off. I... View Article

Candy, I would like to thank you for the phone call yesterday. You really answered a lot of my questions. It’s great to have some support. Starting you own business can be a bit scary, but you have calmed my fears. It’s nice to know we’re not alone. Again, I want to thank you for your thoughtfullness and knowledge. Sincerely,

Hi Lynn,Terry from Toronto here I watched very closely for over a year, both the APPCA and the USPCA, All I can tell you is what I see. I considered joining the USPCA, for a while, but I finally joined the APPCA for several reasons. 1) The APPCA are a caring knowledgeable group, How could I tell? look at the forums, the people know their stuff and are willing to share info with you even though you are not a member yet. 2) The cost comparison speaks for itself, and remember I paid in Canadian dollars. 3) The kit itself is excellent with everything you need to know. 4) Most... WHAT A BLAST!! I am SOOO excited — having just completed a LIVE 30 minute interview on ‘’ radio show ‘Hangin’OUT.’ When our President, Candy Wallace of the APPCA contacted me and asked if I would be interested in joining her from the east coast for an on-air interview, I was both excited and nervous. Jeff and Chelle, our on air host however, took no time putting us both at ease. Candy answered questions regarding the association, our beginnings to date and I answered questions regarding my experience as a novice [but already successful] personal Chef as a result of my training thru the APPCA. You can ‘hear’ our interview... View Article

Two years ago I got on the internet and found Candy and the APPCA. I bought the whole program; membership, seminar, training program and a listing on personal After several months of shuffling my feet and afraid to leave my roots in the restaurant industry, I got down to business and followed her program. It’s very hard work starting your own business. I got customers, made mistakes, got better and then I got quite good. Now, I have 200% of I wanted to achieve. Before taxes, I will make six figures this year. I work five days a week/50 hours. I cook for 10 great clients weekly that love... View Article

Dear Fellow Chefs, I am new to this association, joined in Nov. 2000. This PC business is a longtime dream of mine and I finally got up the nerve to give it a whirl, thanks to chef Candy, she really gave me a lot of encouragement!!! I am a culinary school graduate (Art Institute of Atlanta) and have been working the hotels and restaurants since my graduation in 1990. Most recently I was an executive chef with Marriott Corporate Services. The Exec. Chefs in Marriott Svcs. are really an elite group but I have to tell you, they have nothing on you guys!! (all gender inclusive) You Chefs seem to... View Article

I need to share with all of you that the NPR interview with Candy has brought me nine calls and three e-mails and I have sent six packets of brochures, prices, menus, etc. out just today! I even developed a kid’s menu last night! And my phone rings every morning early…..ALL from Candy’s interview. All I can say, Candy, is thank you. I’m thrilled!
